Capturing the Beauty of our World

Throughout my life, I’ve been addicted to trying to capture the beauty I see around me. Fortunately, my career gave me opportunities to travel, my camera always by my side. I’m so thankful for the beauty of this earth, and when I am overwhelmed by a glorious scene–mountains, rivers, oceans, forest–I just feel compelled to share it. Enjoy!

Finding Inspiration in our World

My paintings are often inspired by the beauty I encounter in the natural world, although sometimes the finished product is quite different than the inspiration. I enjoy the process of seeing what the final canvas will reveal!

About Me

Here’s where it all started – early childhood Sunday School. At about that time, I was experimenting with my first camera and also busy drawing endless pastel images of tropical sunsets, complete with silhouettes of swaying palms. Since then, I’ve experimented with many media and techniques: tole painting, ceramics, colored pencils, charcoal, art quilting, drawing, monoprinting, collage, Procion MX dye, alcohol ink, and watercolor. Bookbinding remains a favorite creative activity. I enjoy the lovely papers, and the process relaxes me. More recently, I’ve taken up writing about my passion for artwork inspired by nature and my faith. I encourage you to spend time outdoors, take time to enjoy the beauty, and to find there a closer relationship to God. Enjoy!
